(This post is also a follow up to the first post on dis-ease and energy)

Just the other day, I found myself in a unique position.

A close family friend had asked for a healing on a long standing shoulder problem. I was more than happy to oblige, what more as this would be my first shoulder healing and I could use the experience.

As he explained the fall he once had, I began to get an idea how I was to approach this healing because it involved the joint, muscle and nerve that required work. An initial scan of the aura indicated the specific area was in fact, troubled.

“It is going to take awhile for this” I thought, and indeed, it did.

After doing the session with the relevant cleansing and healing procedures, I re-scanned his aura and found it down to the healthy size. Concluding that I had done my job, I proceeded to ask him how he was feeling.

His response “Nope, no difference. It’s still hurting!”

I was shocked. The aura shows one reading, the patient tells another. Now either the patient is lying or there’s something that wasn’t addressed in the healing. An auric re-scan showed health level. Even whipping out my special RoK pendulum made of tissue and thread showed the chakra was rotating in the right direction (I make no bones that I can at times be El Cheapo). So what was the problem here?

Then it hit me – Emotions. I re-scanned the aura again, this time specifically the emotional aura, and there it was, the diseased energy that was plaguing the patient. It was strong, it was for certain high and it was definitely the reason for the pain in his shoulder.

I’m starting to see a lot of this now. People who come for healing on a physical ailment only to find the cause isn’t so much in the physical, but is rooted in the emotional aura. This is a telling statement for spiritualists who can understand it.

The emotional aura, in a nutshell is akin to the *normal* aura of a person. (I use normal descriptively) However, instead of showing the persons energy level, emotional aura is a reflection of a subject’s emotional energy/emotional state. It’s about the same level as the normal aura at its healthiest.

As a rule, Pranic Healers use the normal aura as a baseline comparison when it comes to Emotional Aura. Usually, it’s the same level as the normal aura indicating all is fine.

However the good, problems in the emotions can be a stealthy little critter. Just like in this case where a scan on the normal aura indicated the green light, the problem was lying hidden in the emotions going by undetected. Had it not been for the patient not informing of any change, I wouldn’t have thought to look there.

What I questioned was – Why was it causing the shoulder pain? Just as I asked, the answer hit – Emotion(s) are energy.

After the ton of realization brick had fallen, I began to get a birds eye view of what all this is actually about.

As it stands, emotions, I think, is a form of energy in us. Many call it Energy in Motion as it suits them best. But what I now see is something very very different.

Emotion Energy has properties.

In short, it carries its own energy signature, has a strong or weak frequency, starts off without a charge but overtime develops into either a positive or negative state. If that charge isn’t in congruent with our body aura, then eventually the body attracts events that will befall it or manifests the energy as a physical problem.

Neck problems and knee problems are now prime indicators for me to check on the emotions. In nearly all cases, it has been the jackpot. Knee problems is the work of inflexibility - usually because of some event that took place in ones life the person hasn’t move forward (bending to move forward). Neck problems is also the handywork of inflexibility – the unwillingness to see both sides of an issue.

Another example I’ve been testing is headaches – An issue in presently in your life your fighting or don’t want to accept.

For as wild as this may sound, its not news for anyone in the spiritual industry. True blue spiritualist will oftentimes be heard saying how all things is energy and emotions are just part of that equation.

This has lead to the rise of what is called psychosomatic. The art of physical ailment diagnosis using emotions as the counterpoint instead of MRI’s and X-Rays.

A very good example of psychosomatic is in the book Your can Heal Your Life by Louis Hay. This best seller spiritual book lists out a truckload of problems and their emotional root. The diagnosis above is from this book. It has been *the book* most true spiritualist will already have in their possession. Possibly under lock and key.

As for the family friend, after the re-scan, I swept his negative emotional energy away and healed that place. Because of the strong charge of the emotion, it came back after a day. But the great news was, when it did come back, it was weaker than before that even he noticed. Which means, the healing work. (Yes, it was a self plug)

At least, he’s feeling better and happier for it.

Dis-ease - When the traffic just isn't flowin..

It’s a problem in todays world, this thing we call disease. So widespread it is becoming that it has now graduated into a form of 6 degrees of separation. Look at the people you know, chances are one of them will be suffering from something or rather. If not, someone they know.

Yes folks, life expectancy today have gone up from that of thirty years ago, yet quality of life in those years is anything but quality. Not to be outdone, there seems to be more diseases making either a comeback or an introduction.

Who says time heals all wounds?

I’m not looking to condemn modern medicine. Simply put; that’s not what this post is about. Modern medicine is just that, modern. It’s a modality that looks the physical body in as the cause of the problem. As all things modern go; it just doesn’t fit into spirituality. Again, that’s just medicine.

However, in the world of Spirituality, the outlook is different. The body is not the root of disease; far from it, it’s the last place of manifestation. That is what this post is about.

To start, let’s look at the word disease. For many spiritualist, you’ll oft times hear it as “dis-ease”. Essentially, the dis of ease (more proper is un-ease) or the event of not being in a state of ease. One might recall this as a mention from Bob Proctor in the Secret.

What this speaks to is simple: the physical body is actually a form of divine energy. At its healthiest, energy (chi or prana ) circulation around and in the body is perfect and uninterrupted. However, in the likely event of an obstruction in one of the pathways, meridians or nadi’s, this causes a traffic jam of energy.

Now at first, it’s no biggie. I mean, what’s a small bump in the road huh. But as this point of “traffic” becomes stronger, it transforms into diseased energy which is not congruent to the body’s energy. Mind you, while all this is happening, you may not even know you have a health problem coming because even at some point, the energy is still able to flow through.

Over time, months maybe even years, as the build up collects enough strength, that route on the highway eventually turns into a dead end “no go zone” meaning when no vehicles (energy) can ply that route, it manifests in the body as….. pain.

Meaning quite unfortunately, the problem has arrived.

What do we do then – We see a doctor to help solve the problem using conventional medicine. Then we wonder

I reckon at this juncture, the blitz of information I just showered on you maybe hard to swallow especially if you’re new to all this. (Long time spiritualists are more likely to agree with me) That the body has energy around it and obstructions in the flow will manifest in the physical as pain/problem/disease.

But this is why Energy Healing works – Because it looks at the problem from the point energy itself. That is why you will hear/see/find patients suffering from a problem, e.g. Chronic Neck Pain, suddenly claim relieve even complete cure after just a few sessions on Energy Healing.

Where there is an imbalance in the body, energy modalities like Reiki or Pranic Healing is able to unblock, heal and clear it off. When that happens, the block causing the problem dissipates (eventually disappears) and there have you not, a healing so profound it might bring the father of medicine to tears.

I would like to state just in case anyone is thinking what I think you’re thinking, I’m not dissin modern medicine. Far from it, all form of medicine has a place and function in this society of ours. Its only when we place too much emphasis on one form of medicine over the alternatives that we don’t see the root cause of things.

I’m happy to note, more people are now changing to the alternative.

*Next time – I explore causes of the energy traffic jams, and speak on emotions as Psychosomatic.

PS to everyone: Gosh it feels good to post again.

Energy Healing - Reiki - Final

In my last post, I begin what I hope to be my first footstep in the journey of million steps into the world of Energy Healing. The last 3-5 years has seen a dramatic increase in interest in energy based modalities that it astounds even the likes of me.

It was therefore important to start with the most famous of them – Reiki. You can read it by just scrolling down.

In a nut shell, Buddhist monk Mikao Usui discovered the energy of Reiki after profuse fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama. It gives one the ability for self healing as well as healing others. Reiki also functions better with symbols.

Getting that out of the way, in this conclusion post on the introduction of Reiki, (Believe me, I’ll be touching on Reiki in some form down the line) I look into the one area many people today are showing great interest – Becoming a Reiki practitioner.

Economic fluctuations all around the word have some people desiring to use Healing as a source of self-income. Coupled with the fact that this is still a relatively new industry, thereby meaning less competition and a steady stream of customers who are willing to pay RM100 per session, it’s only soon before this is out in the open.

While Malaysia may be slow to see it, hospitals in England have started offering this alongside acupuncture and chiropractic as part of the Health Care Program. Some hotels place it as part of room service.

But this modality isn’t without controversies. Debates abound, and heated they are. Not to give away some just yet, but different schools claim differently while ego’s tend to strut their size.

You will want to read on.

Becoming Reiki Healer

In order to heal using Reiki energies, you first and foremost have to be able to channel them. In simpler terms, be able to connect to tap into the frequencies. (much like how your radio is tuned to a station).

This process of “Attunement” – The use of certain specialized techniques and meditation - all happens under the guidance of a qualified Reiki Master. A person is required to undergo 3 stages of attunement before becoming a full fledged Reiki Initiator.

Here, depending on which of the many different Reiki School you belong to maybe a little different from one to the other. But the need for 3 stages tends to stay the same.

Stage 1 - Students are attuned to the energies after a few sessions. They are able to feel and channel these energies to enable healing on own self and others for both local and far distances. Hand placements thought to be most conducive for healing are taught.

Stage 2 – The practitioner is now educated on the meaning and usage of symbols that are said to increase effectiveness of healing. Different symbols can heal different problems better (e.g physical, emotional).

Stage 3 – Here, having must completed the previous 2 stages, the practitioner is now attuned to enable the full channel and flow of Reiki energy. Thought this is not something I can comment on, one can only imagine it akin to the internet broadband flow going from a 56k line to a 1Mbit line. In this stage, practitioners are considered to have attained mastery and can now attune others into the system.

It is important to note – It doesn’t come cheap.

The 3 stages of attunement can cost anywhere starting anywhere from RM500 per level to RM 1500 for full 3 levels onwards. The price, while not fixed all over, can be dynamite on the pockets and is it’s only a matter if you can find someone who can do it for you a comfortable price.

This also explains in part why some healers can charge from RM50-RM100 per session alone.

Controversy

There exist in line debate about this modality. Almost all which stems from human ego which maybe fortunate or not depending on how you would choose to look at it .

1) Grandmaster

As they say, give a little and they take the whole. Claims of grandmaster-ship has existed coming from Hawayo Takata who studied from Mikao Usui’s first downline student. Being also American she was probably the first (Unconfirmed) to introduce Reiki to the Americans. However, this claim has never been verified and is not accepted in the different Reiki schools.

2) Compatibility

While the 3 stages of attunement is almost standard, the contents differ in practice from one school to the other. According to marthatierney.com, there are 46 differente forms of Reiki. These include Alef Reiki, Angelic Reiki, Archangelic Reiki, Brahma Satya Reiki, Celtic Reiki, Christian Reiki, Crystal Reiki, Divine Light Reiki, Dos Rios Reiki, Dragon Reiki, Essential Reiki, Fire Serpent Reiki, Gayatri Reiki, Heart Reiki, Huna Reiki to name but a few.

Of which, each school may not accept, in some cases completely reject, the teachings of another. Of one, Sekhem Reiki is considered less of a form of original Reiki as it blends the Egyptian healing modality, Sekhem, and Reiki. (Note: I will be covering Sekhem in the future).

While this surely is a pain to looks over small details, it is happening in the system.

3)Healing into the future

This is either a benefit or a problem subjective to individual discretion. Reiki practitioners are taught that healing into the future is possible if the patient will be present at the specific place and time. While I cannot give a say on the credibility of this statement as I have yet to come across any such occurrences, many do scoff at this for its pomposity.

So there you have. My foray into the world of Energy Healing. Granted this maybe my first of what I hope many to come, but it is a start I am pleased with. To become a Reiki practitioner is up to an individual. I personally think there’s nothing wrong with having this, or any other modality, as an aid. And if you don’t feel interested in Reiki specifically, go with what your heart tells you.

It’s your best guide.

Energy Healing - Reiki - (Part 1)

You know what’s sad – We’ve reached a point today’s the living world where disease or health problems are abound. If numbers are supposed to tell a story, then the figures are shouting that many people are afflicted with some health problem or another. And the numbers are growing.

Take a look around you. Every other person, if not all, will have some form health ailment. Only difference is in degree. Someone somewhere will have a story to tell. In fact, that someone could just be someone you know.

This coupled with the growing dissatisfaction with the often “Fear Inducing” Western Medicine branch could explain the rise of Yoga, Meditation, and Herbal diets as an alternative choice of treatment. ( I say fear inducing because that's the feeling you tend to get from them)

Among them is one more alternative, growing very rapidly even as you read this blog post, which is Energy Healing. Indeed, even if you’ve never experienced one, chances are you’ve heard about it.

Which is the topic of this blog post that will kick start my journey into learning and blogging about Energy Healing, and also Energy Healers.

So it’s good to start at the beginning. Reiki as I’ve come to see, is the most famous of all Energy Healing modalities. The name is derivative of of two Chinese characters - rei' (meaning 'spirit', 'soul' or 'ghost') and ki (Chinese qi, here meaning 'energy’ or 'life force').

Reiki claims to be able to heal physical, emotional and even spiritual problems. It’s also the widest practiced with healers now almost everywhere like insurance salesman.

The root of Reiki is traced to Japan in the early 20th century when Buddhist Monk Mikao Usui (left) noticed he had not been drained of energy “after three weeks of fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama.” (Wikipedia)

It is in this realization that saw the birth of a new energy modality into the world.

Drawing from healing entities supposedly existing around us, Reiki teaches that healing energies enters the Healer through the chakra from which it is then directed to the hands and into the patient. This simple idea is not without controversy as arguments are abound between the schools as to which is the receiving chakra. However, all agree the common denominator is the 4th Chakra (heart or Anahata) which directs it to the hands for a healing session.

Like all other modalities, Reiki is very often a “Hands Off” system. A usual session will see a client lying comfortable with clothes on as the Healer moves both hands over the body either in a predetermined format or just random circles. There have been instances when skin contact was required, but I personally have yet to see one.

A typical session will also the use of symbols, which in the teachings, aids or magnifies healing.

They can be seen here, but in nut shell, each symbol penetrates a problem more specifically.

Patients have been known to experience one of 3 feelings – Tingly, Hot or Cold. Involuntary body movements are not uncommon. Even the sensation of an invisible touch which healers will say never happened. It can happen.

However, that is not the Magic of Energy Healing. It is the experience of healing clients feel after a few sessions. The unconscious disappearance of pain, the sudden jolt of unknown confidence, the control over anger.

In most cases, pain is reduced permanently.

However, one statement that echoes across all modalities of the spectrum is that the clients heal themselves and Healers only facilitate it. Should a client firmly believe that a healing will happen, that’s the usual outcome. If the clients feels the opposite, no amount of Reiki can do anything.

In Part 2 – I look briefly into becoming a Reiki Practitioners and talk about the controversy surrounding this modality.
