Angel Guides : A brief explanation - Vera answers (Part 2)

This is a follow up post to my Angel Guides introduction. In the previous post, I spoke to how everyone has assisting, invisible Angel guides in their life. These guides are there to help us learn karmic lessons so we progress spiritually.

In this post, I ask my blogger friend Vera Nadine to give a low down on the subject. It only took 3 questions for her to succinctly explain the entire subject. She breaks it down very simply, gives a different take on long held believes while shedding light on others. (Thanks Vera)

Vera channels Guides. Her blog is here.

Here goes.

What is the difference between Spirit Guides and Angels?
There really isn't any. It is a questions of semantics. Some people call them guides some people call them angels. I don't believe in angels, I believe in different types of conscious and thinking energy forms. So I say guides. There are also ascended beings who choose to act as guides. Someone else might call them angels but I wouldn't.

We all have two guides - How do we know if they are Angels or Spirits?

First of all this is a falsehood, some of us only ever have one guide, some of us have five or six or seven. There is not set amount. How to tell if they are angels or spirits I do not know. I have one guide that is an ascended being, who some might call an angel. She is stronger than the regular guide, much brighter and more full of light. The ascended ones usually are much more detached in an emotional way. Not that they care less but you never really feel their emotions change. Regular guides are much more human in their speech and their reactions to things, this is because they are generally your own higher self. They still have emotion and show their caring very strongly. Both of these types of guides, contrary to popular belief, have at one time been incarnate as a human.

In some instances, its been noted that there are "full time" and "temporary" guides. What is your opinion on this?

Well I suppose that could be so. I see it more as we each have our permanent guides who stay with us for our life or for year long periods of time, like decades. But, if your guides have opened you up to be a channel, you can get guides who come through you for only one session or for several sessions that deal with a specific topic and then once they have finished passing on their wisdoms, they leave.

Angel Guides - A brief explanation (Part 1)

A few years back, my friend and fellow lightworker, KB, in a conversation with me on all things spiritual introduced me to the concepts of Angel Guides.

"It's not a fairy tale. We all have guides in our lives. They are constantly around us to help us in our spiritual evolution!"

If there ever was one thing consistent about my good friend, I daresay it's that every conversation with him was an adventure on its own. But I digress. This post is meant to be about Guides.

Indeed, this isn't a fairy tale. Move around any spiritualist blog and you'll find that not only is it readily understood, many people accept it. Even attest to it. Some even channel their messages. Very simply, a lot of people are beginning to be open to this concept.

Not at least judging from the results Google returned. It's shocking how pervasive and well accepted the concept is when you see just how many sites are in place discussing this topic

So maybe there is something to all this after all.

Angel guides as it turns out is a concept that been around for quite a bit. So long as Man as looked to the heavens for help and salvation, Angels would be there to follow. However, it seems they have been closer down to earth than even we know. They’re right here with us.

Everyone comes into this world with guides. The general understanding on this is that we have about two guides with us at any one time, until we reach the end of our natural life. These 2 are said to be ones who know us best, who send us messages when they feel the need to, and ensure that as we go through our karma(s), we learn the lessons that comes along with it. From the many documents I've read, these 2 are there either by our own design pre-birth, and/or karmic choices. They stay with us permanently.

Then there are those temporary guides who pop in temporarily during the course of our life time to do the same thing our permanent guides, only they are there for a limited time and move on upon task completion

From research, all guides are there for 2 fundamental reasons 1) To help us during the times of problems in our life so we will learn important karmic lessons which will, 2) Aid in raising our consciousness or spiritual evolution.

While they are not visible, they certainly are there. And they only intent to look after us

Now, there are also Spirit Guides. And search anywhere, you'll find that there is supposed difference.

The difference being - Angel Guides are beings of pure love, knowledge, with higher vibrations and having never really taken a human birth. Spirit guides on the other hand have nearly the same qualities, except for one, they have taken a birth.

Which means they're just like you and me; they have more understanding of emotions and decisions people make. Like and unlike Angels, Spirit Guides are also here to help chosen to us because of our karmic construct and possibly, to fulfill theirs.

While one is heavenly, the other is more closely related to us.

Which ever it is, we always have a guide working with us for our spiritual benefit. I know this first hand. Yes, me the skeptic.

Earlier this year, the decision was left to me to sign the veterinary papers. Because of that, I had to bid goodbye to my best friend of 12 years. Next day during prayer in the temple, I was hugged from behind. I turned around but there wasn’t anyone. I realized instantly.

I remember that day. The hug faint but tangible. The recognizable feeling of a hug, yet it seemed somewhat essence-less. I know, it doesn’t sound right. Still, that which struck me more was that I felt the hug akin to one of those “I’m so sorry. It will be ok!” types.

So I suppose KB was right all. We all do have Angel Guides in our lives. He is one person who will testify to that. I guess I have more adventures coming up in this world.

Guess I should thank my angels for that.

Part 2 – I interview Vera Nadine on this subject. In just 3 questions, she dispels some long held beliefs about the Angel Guides and gives detailed clearer explanations on others. Not to be missed!

The Search for Something More

As far as this blog is concerned, the last 3 weeks has moved very fast for me.

Granted I haven’t exactly proven it with postings as such. Certainly a crime I’m guilty no less. However, I speak to a different message and not about my recent lack of time.

When I first conceptualized the idea for this blog up, I had 2 things I knew I wanted for certain – A layout that was peaceful somewhat, and to write about all things new age-spiritual. And that’s where it ended.

What I was to post, or what does a new age blog speak on was going to be one I find out on my own. New age blogs weren’t easy to find and I’ll be going at this playing by ear.

Until of course I stumbled on Vera's blog. What can I say, hers is blogging real estate.

Through her, I was introduced to the world of new age blogging. Kara Leah, Erin Pavlina. Who knew? Who would have known?

So maybe I’m not alone anymore.

Kindred spirits out there who love to help while posting their experience with touch of human individuality. That warm feeling that comes through.

But I’m also aware who they are. Vera channels Spirit Guides, Kara does yoga 6 times a week & meditates, Erin does spiritual readings.

That’s the difference – They’re the pros. I’m the beginner.

Intimidating it can be, Vera’s been kind. To think, huh. A senior accepting a junior.

So maybe I have good help after all. I also think I understand “New Age” blogging a little better now.(some of the fog has lifted) This however also means I’m a little in the distance compared to them.

I would have never thought of some great pieces like Medium Adventures: The Geisha Girl, or Kara’s How to heal your relationship with food. Truth be told, I’m still getting my head around these posts.

And that’s the point I suppose. Learn from the best. I don’t want to be next Vera or K-L, I want to be the first Drifts.

But I think I also get what this blog may mean – As I post stuff to help others on their journey, it’s a guide point of my own. Where I am, and where I’ve come from. The prospect thrills me.

If only I could figure out what “here” means, and where I stand in it.

Well, I suppose its part of the process.

Akashic Records - The Records of your Soul

Ever had one of those moments where you just keep stumbling into some idea unendingly. You'll see a book on the subject, then your friend will from no where speak about it, followed by something or rather. It can get spooky at times.

Over the last few weeks, I find myself unusually caught in this one scenario. I don't know why, but every turn on the internet will somehow lead me a website or an ad or an article or something talking about this one idea – The Akashic Records.

I've been here before. Having run into something no matter how much I try to hide from it. It's almost like someone is shouting it at me. Fine. Being one to call a spade a spade, I took this as a celestial sign from the Man Upstairs to go do some investigative surfing.

Thus I began researching and after one week, if there's one thing I've come to realize about the Akashic Record, this would say it– it's just not possible to break it down in one para. The DNA of the Universe as its commonly known needs to be explained in sub-sections. So, here goes.

What are the Akashic Records

The starting point for this is the name itself. Akashic comes from the root name Akasha, which is Sanskrit for Sky, Space or ether. Translated, it means (somewhat) Records in the Sky.

According to long held belief, these Records in the Sky hold the complete details of every soul in existence. Everything from thought, word or act ever undertaken or said, these records will have it. They also include one entry - Every re-incarnation ever gone through by a soul. If a soul has taken a birth, or a re-birth, this is the Universe's database.

Simply put, it's all there.

How is this possible?

Believe me, I asked the same question. All research I've done point to one explanation in general that being every action undertaken by the soul is an act of energy. According to Ezines, "The soul emits energy with every thought, action or event that it engages in"

This energy however, does not disappear into nothingness. Instead it leaves a sort of finger print, a multi-dimensional holographic recording of the event, into the Akasha. It is these imprints which are then recorded in each individual's unique file in the Astral.

Meaning anything and everything we do/think/act is recorded in hologram into the Records.

This statement could very well be the rise for the saying "God knows everything you've done!"

Where are these records?

Unlike what the name may suggest, you're not going to find anything looking upwards, or even into outer space. And no, there are no special instruments to use.

Space or ether in reference here speaks of the Astral World. While I've written about the Astral in my Soul Traveling post, briefly, the Astral Plane is the place our souls travel to every night when we sleep and where we experience dreams.

In the astral, the Records are "located in the Hall of Records, located in the akashic plane of the universe, one of the 7 planes". Wikipedia lists Akashic in the Trikuti Causal Plane (as believed by Surat Shabda Yoga)

Which religion believes in this?

Oddly enough, while many religions today don't get along, this concept is in fact prevalent, one way or another, in almost all.

It's the Book of Ages, and the Book of the Lamb St. Peter held by the keeper of the Gates of Heaven (Christianity), Nature's Memory (Buddhism) and even as considered to be source of the language Sanskrit and the origin of the Hindu Scriptures, Vedas.

Make no mistake about this. This concept has been known for many millenias. A check on Wikipedia will give you a list "including the Indians, Moors, Tibetans, Bönpo and other peoples of the Himalaya, Egyptians, Persians, Chaldeans, Greeks, Chinese, Hebrews, Christians, Druids and Mayans."

Egyptians seers looked to the Akashic to provide the Pharaohs the best advice in decision making. Famous psychic Edgar Edward Cayce needed only to sleep after which he was able to give his customers accurate readings in his sessions.

Whom do I see about accessing my Records

Here is where it gets interesting. For me, it does.

By now, if I've written this right, you're under the impression that this celestial Soul Records are only reachable by Rishi's or Yogi's or someone who's a highly evolved soul with many hours of meditation under his belt.

NO – says almost every shred of research information I had to pour into.

Anyone, literally anyone who can Astral Travel has the chance access the Akashic. So if you know how to separate from your physical body and traverse the Astral, then you've got an access pass to go see.

If you don't know how to, and would like to know what Astral Travel is about, read my post on the subject matter.

Putrajaya and Sleep : I need less of one and more of the other!

Anyone who’s popped by Drifts will have noticed that it’s been a rather dry week. No arguments there. The simple reason for this is – Work.

This last week has seen me go from absolutely free one minute, to running out the door the next. Almost literally I have to add. It’s just been a crazy week of different ups and downs.

For those in Malaysia, you would know what I mean when I say – Putrajaya.

For those not from, they’re called Government Departments. Ones that, if dealt with enough times, can be the source of unthinkable nightmares.

I would know. The near lost of important submittion documents (by them, not me) had me scrambling for tether to post. Not like it’s near to begin with. Distance wise, it’s an hours drive from Kuala Lumpur city to our second capital. Thankfully nothing untoward came about and all is good in the end.

Anyway, proper postings should resume next week.

I need rest. Government Depts; gotta love them.

The Secret to You..A Gift From The Secret Scrolls.

Force of Habit. I just had to do this. Even if just one person watching this feels it beneficial, I know I've helped someone. Hope it helps.

Have fun.

By now, many people have come across, or heard about, the Documentary-Movie titled “The Secret”. Catchy name for a show, it outlines what is the Law of Attraction (which is the secret itself) and how everyone can use it to bring abundance in their life.

Bear with me on this one. There is a point to all this.

Released somewhere July ‘06, it features an army successful people who testify to its validity with evangelist like zeal. As such, the movie literally spread across the globe like wildfire. Oprah did two shows just explaining it.

It is that good. However, not many people buy into it.

Some claim it’s an old recipe, cooked differently. Others plain discard it as New Age nonsense. Considering that this is in part a New Age blog, I have to say, they have good reasons to disclaim it.

The Secret teaches that if you will for something, you send out magnetized vibrations to the Universe which in turn attracts that very thing you desire to you. So if you want more money, think about getting more and bam!....it comes you.

Not hard to see why there’s such resistance. Imagine the possibilities of just sitting down on your ass all day long and getting what you want moving in your direction without having to lift a finger. Life could not be easier.

Here in comes the point – Life can never be that easy.

There is no “free lunch” as they say and this is no different. Sitting on your ass hoping for the money to come will not having it knocking on your door. You’d sooner get bill collectors coming to take your furniture.

It’s easy to understand why if you watch The Secret that it in some ways pushes a lazy lifestyle. They never made it a point to emphasize that if you want something, you have to work at it.

Work hard in fact. Because again, nothing is for free. When you do it, do it with passion. Be passionate about what you want, then go out and fight for it. There is no substitute for hard work, and this is no difference.

You are what you believe and that is an important factor. Believe you’ve received more money. Believe it has already come to you. Imagine yourself holding the cheque as you feel the happiness. Believe firmly you have. Believe firmly it happened. Now go out and work for it.

And herein lays the claim of The Secret “…..and it will come!”

If you get the point above, then this howto will come naturally. One great tip from James Ray (a speaker in The Secret) is to go “3 for 3” – Thoughts, Feelings and Actions – all fired into one focus. The energy you feel from it will have the Universe moving to your feet.

Some are scoffing at this, I’m sure. But I say to you - Copernicus was persecuted severely for claiming the Earth revolved around the Sun. He was right, they were wrong. So don’t judge too fast what you think is wrong.

Whatever it is put all 3 into action. More money, car, guys/girls. Go ahead. And *when* you’re successful, make sure to always give some back to the needy, and come tell me about it.

(NY Times)

I have to admit, this headline grabbed my attention when I saw it. Seriously, the whole tourism industry has grown into so big over the years, there's numerous subsets that encompasses a whole. ( I know of one - Sports Tourism. It was my thesis dissertation)

And now Spiritual Tourism?

One can only begin to imagine what it must be like to traverse the "Spirit World". Would it be just like ours - Hills, Valleys, Mountains and what nots. Or would it be just like what we see in Hollywood's interpretation, a ghastly white, cold, monstrous like place?

I don't know, and right now, I'm debating whether I would like to find out.

Article from the New York Times.

NO sound was heard in the burial chamber of the Great Pyramid as a tall, slender woman lay down in the pharaoh’s pitted granite sarcophagus, her flowing silver hair spreading beneath her. Her dozen or so companions in the dank room lifted their arms, palms upward, eyes closed in meditation.

As was prescribed in the training of priests in pharaonic Egypt, the woman had said, each member of the group had taken a turn in the sarcophagus; now she, their spiritual leader, occupied the space. Suddenly, her lips quivered, and a guttural moan escaped them, bouncing off the smooth stone walls and ceiling like an angry pinball. She climbed out of the sarcophagus, her face creased with determination, and formed the group into a circle, sitting cross-legged. In a deep voice, she read from the Emerald Tablets of Thoth, which she believes were translated from the ancient tongue of Atlantis.

The leader’s name is Shari Billger, and her home is near Colorado Springs. But on this January day, she was leading a group of Americans and Japanese who had come to the pyramids to connect with the unique spiritual energy that many Western visitors to Egypt believe they will find there.
